She and Grant Withers were married from 1930 to 1931, but she had a famous affair with Spencer Tracy as well. She was only eight years old when she picked up smoking. People started to take her seriously when she starred in Day for Night. However, her real claim to fame would be the iconic soaking wet shirt in The Deep. As a matter of fact, this scene has been attributed to the start of those wet T-shirt contests! Well, it was definitely a historic moment. Anyway, the English star went on to work on various TV shows and movies after that.
