Kim Novak
The truth was that Columbia Pictures recruited Kim Novak to replace Rita Hayworth, previously one of the biggest stars in the industry. Aside from that, the company had been hoping that she could be a viable rival of Marilyn Monroe from 20th Century Fox. She was able to make a name for herself in Hollywood by starring in an Alfred Hitchcock movie called Vertigo. However, she has only taken on roles in sporadic spans of time ever since the ‘60s. She officially retired in the early ‘90s. In 2010, the actress shared that she was suffering from breast cancer. Fortunately, she beat the disease!
Claudia Cardinale
This beautiful actress got her start when she won a competition to look for the “Most Beautiful Italian Girl in Tunisia.” The prize was a trip to Italy! However, Claudia Cardinale struggled because her parents taught her Sicilian and not Italian. Just so you know, the two languages are pretty different. At any rate, she was able to land a lot of modeling opportunities and acting jobs with her good looks. They had to use voiceover for her, however, since she had a raspy voice and a French accent. We are glad to say that she is passionate about women’s rights. In 2000, she was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador!
