Sandra Bullock tried to get Million Dollar Baby into production mode for a long time. Sadly, studios had no interest in a film about a female boxer back then. She decided to take up the Miss Congeniality 2 offer instead. Hilary Swank and Clint Eastwood eventually started working on Million Dollar Baby, even earning an Oscar for the actress in the process! When Bullock was asked about it, she only said, “When things like that happen, that’s the way they’re supposed to be.”

The actress got a Worst Actress nomination during the Golden Raspberry Awards for her performance! She was good-natured about it and even attended the ceremony to get the award. The next night, she went on to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for her The Blind Side performance. The balance was restored!
