It took him quite some time before he found the right place to call home. There were deep holes that he took into consideration. After all, not many hikers went there because no one would actually brave the dark. He also considered settling down by the riverbank, although this did not sit well with him either. The moment he laid his eyes on his dream home, it was like love at first sight.

Not many people would feel the same way because it was unrelenting, cloying, and brimming with overgrowth. A single path led up to it before it trailed off into rocks and dust. There were boulders looming over there, casting shadows and barring most of the sunlight available in the daytime. The area was not one anyone else was likely to visit.
