Estimates say that Knight made a grand total of a thousand burglaries in the span of 27 years. There are some people who dubbed him as the person behind one of the “biggest burglary cases in the history of Maine.” Although he could smuggle these goods, he needed to deal with the weather as well. When you stay in the woods, the seasons will be more challenging than they usually are.

When he got to his destination, summer continued on with its earnest sun and longer days. Even though there was a beautiful lake not that far away, the landscape did not fit the description of a summertime paradise. Roads twisted and turned underneath suffocating brambles and felled trees. The visible ground would sink whenever rain came around. It was definitely not a beach resort. However, the winters were on a different league altogether.
