The city does not seem to have limits when building huge structures for the sake of making something of this size. This is not a phenomenon that is specific to Dubai, but many tourists will probably be surprised to hear that there are beaches specifically for families and women only. No single men can go to these areas! People who want to go to these locations have to always be dressed in “respectful” beach attire. This means that women have to be fully covered. Locals have explained that it is nice to have a couple of beaches where they do not have to care about disturbing or being disturbed by others. According to them, the dress code in these places is more respectful of their religious and cultural beliefs. A local woman explained, “It ensures there are areas of the beach where everyone can feel more comfortable and avoid large groups with loud music and smoking, especially when you have children.”
