The male ones can grow as tall as nine inches and weigh more than nine pounds. The Maltese is a descendant of an extinct Central Mediterranean Basin breed of dogs, but they are now extinct. While it is a short dog, it makes up for that with its playful and bold attitude. It used to be a caring laptop in the Middle Ages.
