Doctor’s Uncertainty
Sadly, all they can tell her was that they were uncertain if Khan could make it. He told her, “We don’t know yet, madam. We did what we could, but now his body has to fight the poison. The anti-venom will certainly help, but we don’t know to what extent. It’s best that you come back tomorrow morning.” These words made her hopes sank. Catherine was hoping for some positive news. Still, Catherine continued to hope for Khan’s survival.
Suffering Insomnia
As she left the vet’s offices, her mind kept wandering to her poor dog. She continued to recall all the events in her head. Her mind kept racing back to Khan, thus making it impossible for her to sleep. Christine watched Charlotte who was in deep sleep and realized, she never thought that things would happen this way. She felt an overwhelming gratitude towards her dog for keeping her daughter safe and sound. Nonetheless, she also felt a deep wave of guilt because she wasn’t able to do more for Khan who risked his life for her daughter.
