The team needs some time to ensure that the activity poses no risk to the president’s life.

This event is a tribute to the First Amendment, which safeguards one’s right to free speech. It means that the president gets roasted a lot! Aside from all the fun, they also hand out awards and scholarships during this event, which is where the admission fees go toward.
