Each year during Christmas, there is a white chocolate replica of the White House displayed in the State Dining Room. This tradition began in the 1960s and it is still going strong today. The masterpiece takes bakers up to 3 months to construct and has weighed up to 300 pounds!

Although the White House traditions have become more up to date over the years, the staff continue to wear formal wear when serving guests. Even during informal occasions, White House waiters and waitresses wear tuxedos.
