Sally Struthers Then
In All In the Family, Sally Struthers brought Gloria Stivic to life. The character was the child of Archie and Edith Bunker in the sitcom. Did you know that this role was meant to go to Candice Azarra, who was in the pilot episode? When she was dropped from the project, Struthers took over. As Gloria, we got to watch her put on blonde pigtails and a rebellious attitude. This was only the beginning of her career. She has since made a name for herself as one of the most popular TV actresses in the industry.
Sally Struthers Now
Even though she has not aged as well as possible, Sally Struthers kept landing one project after another. She is a long-time advocate of the Christian Children’s Fund, which is now called ChildFund. Aside from that, she helps children in need in developing countries. In 2014, she starred in the 50th anniversary production of Hello, Dolly!. If you watch South Park, you might remember that she was parodied in the TV show. The episode in question revolved around a starving kid and is called “Starvin’ Marvin.” It talked about how the actress overate, which contrasted with her efforts to help those who did not have anything to eat. Apparently, she was upset by the way she was portrayed on the show. We hope that she has kept her chin up despite the unfair and cruel portrayal of her.
