2008: Tom Petty

If there was a musician who knew how to do a Super Bowl halftime performance, Tom Petty is it. When he went on stage in 2008, he delivered a great performance. He knew what the audience wanted and gave them that. He got it right from the very beginning when he performed “American Girl”! Unfortunately, that season was one of the worst for another Tom – Tom Brady, of course.

2005: Paul McCartney

When Paul McCartney went on stage, people had very high expectations for him. Luckily, he did not crack under all the pressure. He delivered an excellent performance during the halftime show during Superbowl 2005. He opened with “Drive My Car”, performed “Get Back”, followed it with “Live and Let Die”, and closed with “Hey Jude”. There are people who have perfected stage shows, apparently!
