Reopening Sealed Windows
Have you ever moved into an older apartment or house only to discover that the supposedly “newly painted windows” are actually stuck? When people don’t wait long enough for the paint to dry, the window is effectively sealed to the frame.
Patience and a light touch are required for this DIY fix. The chisel can be placed between the window and the frame where it is sealed with a hammer and chisel. Then, using the hammer to tap the chisel, remove the paint that caused it to seal. Take advantage of your open windows!
Fixing Scuffed Skirting Boards
Your skirting boards can add a lot of definition to the rooms, even if you don’t notice them very often. It’s a good idea to start filling in the nail holes and buffing out any scuffs that have appeared on the furniture to keep them looking perfect.
You can avoid having to fill and repaint the entire skirting board by using a substance called wood putty. Instead, a small amount of putty will give it a wood-staining effect, making those skirting boards look brand new!
