The mansion was sold after a few years, but Lee was still adamant in staying in the property. Liza finally stopped paying the bills and fired to household staff to compel her stepmother to leave. This resulted in Lee filing a lawsuit against Liza which would become a brief legal battle.

The lawsuit claimed that Liza breached her contract and had caused immense emotional pain upon her stepmother. Court papers had established that transferring the 94-year-old “will no doubt be the death of her.” Liza’s wedding to David Gest in 2002 did not make things any better.
