January 20th, 2020 – Still Paying Millions
On this day, the public found out that taxpayers are footing the £7.6 million security bill even though Harry and Meghan are stepping down. There was no mention of this in the official statement of the Palace and the couple. Ex-Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman Chris Matthew, who has kept the royals safe abroad, said that the annual security bill will rival the Prime Minister’s. At the same time, it was understood that Charles will be supporting Harry and Meghan through his private investment income. The “Sussex Royal” brand, which the couple got license to expand, will likely appear more in the future. Still, we are not sure how well it will develop since the Queen is sensitive about royal credential use.
January 20th, 2020 – Patching Things Up
Tabloids claimed Harry tried to smooth things over during a private meeting. For months, there have been rumors about a growing rift between the brothers. With Harry moving to North America, they would likely drift even further. Tabloids said that they had to make up “now [or] they never would.” There were also claims that things were more difficult to smooth over than with their father.
