According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, more than 600,000 individuals were missing every year in the United States. Luckily, several lost children and adults were found swiftly – living and safe. However, there were still tens of thousands of people who had been missing for more than a year. These cases are what agencies classified “cold cases.”
