The Seagull
Back in 2001, Portman opened in New York City’s Public Theater production of Chekhov’s The Seagull. It was directed by Mike Nichols and she had quite the all-star castmates! She acted alongside Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Black Swan Training Was Intense!
In order to prepare for her role in “Black Swan,” she went through five to eight hours of dance training each day for six months. She reportedly lost 20 pounds (9 kg)! Yikes!
