Nadya is very open about everything, and we really mean everything. She is also filled with pride that her children are thriving and she shows this to the world. “They’re the only surviving eight octuplets in the history of mankind. I’ve raised them to be wide-awake,” she said, which means that her children also know about the darker period she had in her life. She explained, “We talk about everything. They know, they went through it with me. It’s a huge weight lifted off of all of them when I went back to who I was. We were struggling financially.”

The reporter then shifted his attention to the older kids, and it appears that their feelings about the media attention are pretty mixed. Her eldest daughter, Amerah, said,“Most of my friends don’t know about the eight.” Then, she explained, “When they were born, I was in elementary school. I would get questions about everything. But I would answer and say…I get that you’re interested, but I wouldn’t intrude on your family, why intrude on mine?” Nadya’s son Joshua, a 15 year old gamer, responds differently when asked questions and he said, “Some of my friends don’t have any siblings, so they want to know what it’s like. It’s nice to have someone to play with.”
