Bryant Reeves – Cattle Farmer
Bryant Reeves retired from the NBA six seasons after being drafted. He was known as “Big Country,” and he had to depart due to injuries. He chose to grow cattle on a farm instead of ending this chapter of his life. While he is not a sports icon, it is evident that he is well-versed in agricultural life. He currently owns and operates a sprawling 300-acre cattle ranch! It seems that his moniker fits him better than anybody expected. We’re curious whether becoming a cowboy was always his desire. This lifestyle seems to serve him well.
Charlie Ward – Head Coach
Despite winning the Heisman Trophy while at Florida State, Charlie Ward was not selected by the NFL. As a result, he turned his attention to the NBA. He went on to play 11 seasons, most of them with the Knicks. He retired in 2005 and began coaching. He did not pursue college or professional coaching instead of settling for high school coaching jobs. He started his career as the head basketball coach at Booker T. Washington High School. Since 2018, he has been the head basketball coach at Florida State University’s Developmental Research School.
