Shawn Kemp – Sports Bar Owner
Shawn Kemp was a great NBA player for 14 years. He was selected to the All-NBA Second Team three times and an All-Star team six times. He retired in 2003, although he stayed active in sports in his manner. He accomplished this by launching Oskar’s Kitchen, a sports vehicle. It was a risky venture for him, given that he was in Seattle. He kept it going for as long as he could. Unfortunately, he had to shut it in 2015. He is still involved in the business as a co-owner of Amber’s Kitchen.
Darko Milicic – Apple Grower
There’s a reason Darko Milicic is often referred to as the NBA’s greatest draft failure. He was the second overall selection in 2003. He ended up bouncing around the league until retiring in 2012 while playing for the Boston Celtics. He currently lives a peaceful life in Serbia, cultivating apples. He used to be a kickboxer before settling into this lifestyle. The sport did not appeal to the large guy, who would instead plant rows and rows of apple trees on his 125-acre property. He seems to be enjoying the high life!
