SIDNEY POITIER, 91 YEARS OLD
Another Hollywood great to add to the list is Sidney Poitier. He originally made history in his heyday for becoming the first African-American man to be awarded with an Oscar for the 1963 film Lilies of the Field. The Bahamian-American actor also starred in numerous significant movies involving race-relations, like To Sir, with Love; In the Heat of the Night; and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. He has also doubled as a film director, author, and diplomat and directed blockbusting movies like Ghost Dad. Sidney was recognized for his work by received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II all the way back in 1974. In 2016 he was awarded the a prestigious BAFTA Fellowship for his outstanding lifetime achievement in film, and can now enjoy the life of leisure.
CARL REINER, 96 YEARS OLD
Carl Reiner is one talented man, and the comedian, actor, director, and writer has forged a career that spanned seven decades. He first rose to fame in the 1950’s as a co-writer and actor in Caesar’s Hour and Your Show of Shows, starring Sid Caesar. He famously formed a comedy duo with Mel Brooks in the movie 2000 Year Old Man and more recently he starred as Saul in the Ocean’s Eleven film franchise. Carl has received numerous accolades for his performances, including nine Emmy awards and one Grammy and is believed to have a net worth of approximately $70 million. At 96 years old, Carl is living out his later years in Beverley Hills California.
