To be able to illuminate the inside of the hatch, John and his team set up an electrical line. They also installed a black pipe so that they could funnel in fresh air. Finally, they were almost at their final goal. Over half a century later, the underground cavern’s mystery would be solved.

Once the team widened the entrance, it looked far better than when they first started. In spite of the Arizona heat, they were finally working on the part that they were most excited about. John finally felt that it was okay to go down to explore his backyard discovery. Everybody had been looking forward to this moment, especially John. At last, they can now go inside.
