Over the next years, the ship’s remains got buried underneath the sand. However, during the 2016 El Niño, there was a storm strong enough to move the sand away and reveal this ancient piece of history again.

The Slow Reveal
With some help from the incoming and outgoing tide, more and more of the former “sin ship” was slowly revealed. Before long, Coronado residents could make out the whole shipwreck.
