They got in touch with a man who discovered a van that once belonged to Aerosmith in the early days of their touring days. Ray Tabano, a guitarist and founding band member, confirmed that the Harvester Metro van was theirs They used to tour in it back in the ‘70s! The band used the vehicle when they were just starting out and playing in Boston before they got their big break. The van’s owner was a man called Phil, and he sold it to American Pickers for the price of $25k.

That was not the only piece of music history they discovered along the way. This time, it was a guitar that used to belong to Chet Atkins, one of the best country guitarists in the old days. The musician came from Nashville, which explains how the guitar found its way to Mike and Frank’s shop. Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys wanted the 1958 Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120 guitar and paid them $9,500. Being based in the city and looking for valuable stuff in the area gives them the chance to discover more music artifacts easily. The best thing about it is that most people who end up buying them off are musicians as well.
