The musician was to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame when her father fell into a coma and was then stroked. On October 23, 2014, her father died. Reba was so close to her father and said that it was her biggest fan. For sure Reba was bereaved due to the death of her father.

Reba made the video Just Like Them Horses, which she dedicated to his father. The music video was even shot at their family’s property in Chockie, Oklahoma. She also shared how her father was her biggest fan.
