The Green Berets (1968)
The Green Berets is a Vietnam War film based on Robin Moore’s 1965 novel of the same name. It stars John Wayne as an anti-Communist and pro-Vietnam War soldier. There were considerable anti-Vietnam War views back then. This was the reason that President Lyndon B. Johnson offered the team complete military cooperation. Despite this, the film contained numerous historical mistakes. Many critics said that the film was attempting to convey a complex war through the use of a “cowboys and Indians” approach.

Flyboys (2006)
Flyboys is a World War I film about young men who train to be fighter pilots and battle in aerial dogfights over France. Although the equipment and military tactics are not true, all of the characters are based on real guys from the Lafayette Flying Corps squadron. For one fact, the airplanes used in the film were not in existence during the Great War. Not only that but the planes were painted red to make them stand out against the backdrop planes. Such a thing could never happen in real life!
