American Anthem (1986)

You would think that a movie about gymnastics with an actual gymnast would be good, but it was not the case. The film has Mitchell Gaylord as Steve Tevere, who gave up gymnastics to be a motorcycle mechanic and resumes training after meeting a new girl. Sadly, critics found it ‘dim-witted.’ Gaylord also won a Razzie for his acting! At the very least, he did go on to be the 7th best American gymnast by 2007.
