Rocket Dog Rescue staff realized it was best for Taco and Merrill to be kept together, so they decided to change the listing on their website. They got Jodi, a wonderful volunteer, to foster the dogs while the pair was waiting to find a forever home. Soon, the perfect opportunity came to them.

A family living in San Jose found the listing on the website and they fell in love with Taco and Merrill’s story. The family paid Jodi a visit to meet the furry pair and they decided to make the dogs part of their family. Merrill and Taco were thrilled to go to their new home together but it wasn’t a happy ending just yet.
