Taco was a senior dog and had a number of health issues, like asthma and dental disease. He actually only had four teeth. However, those problems seemed to be minor compared to what the vet told the family when they took Taco for a check-up a month after the dogs were adopted. Sadly, the outlook wasn’t that good.

The medical evaluation revealed that Taco had an enlarged heart and his lungs were surrounded by fluid. He would likely suffer impending heart failure if nothing was done soon. He was put on medications right away and he was scheduled for a specialist visit. The family hoped for the best, but they braced for the worst.
