A man came to Rocket Dog Rescue in San Francisco to look for a dog to adopt and he fell in love with Merrill, a three-year-old pit bull. Not long after, it was time for him to pick the dog up, but the shelter had an unexpected obstacle: Merrill would not leave her best friend – an eight-year-old Chihuahua named Taco.

A Very Strong Bond
Merrill and Taco came to the Rocket Dog Rescue at the same time since they were surrendered together. There isn’t much about the dog’s previous owners that is known, but there was one thing clear: the dogs were best friends. The two spent their time together and they cried whenever they were separated. The shelter staff also got a glimpse of the pair’s really strong bond.
