When the pair came to the Rescue, Merrill had a severe uterine tract infection which surgery in order to save her life. Taco was distraught and restless the entire time Merrill was in surgery. When she finally got released, the staff tried to isolate her in order to help her heal much faster, but it was a little difficult.

Attentive And Dedicated
Both Taco and Merrill cried until Taco was allowed to be with Merrill in the recovery area. After that, the Chihuahua never left his best friend’s side and was dedicated and attentive to Merrill the entire time she was in recovery. Staff was amazed by these two dogs’ commitment for each other. However, the staff were also worried that this might actually be a detriment.
