When a dog stays at a shelter for a lengthy period, it is more equipped to adapt to its surroundings. However, this may not always predict a positive outcome. Sometimes, a dog in a shelter is forced to share a cell with other dogs, restricting its socializing opportunities. Benji had lived in the animal shelter for around 1.5 years at this point. Even though he was no longer a puppy but still appeared to be one, everyone who came to the shelter to adopt him quickly fell in love with him and wanted to bring him home.

Some animals are more likely to find new homes than others. Benji was particularly fortunate because he was still a little child with an endearing appearance. Adopting a puppy is an easier choice than adopting other animals because, well, puppies are adorable! Benji did not spend nearly as much time at a shelter over the course of the previous year and a half as is commonly believed. If he were here and adoptable, he would be adopted in less than two weeks. On the other side, his adoptive parents repeatedly returned him to his birth family.
