When the people in the local community got the message, they were aware that they also had to act. After all, the life of a child was on the line here. We bet they were reminded of their own kids and grandkids. It must have struck a chord with all of them.

Rallying Around
Apart from the IPAWS message broadcasted out, the Blount County community heard about what was going on thanks to a smartphone application called Next Door. This program helped spread the word even further. It is a rather private social network for people in a neighborhood.
