Gene Tierney
Gene Tierney might not be as popular as the other ladies on the list, but we can’t deny that she had a huge impact on Hollywood. She is best known for starring in Laura. She also received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in the 1945 film Leave Her to Heaven. Her last acting role was for a 1964 film called The Pleasure Seekers. In the decades that followed, she appeared in several TV shows before her death in 1971.
Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher is an inspiration to many women all over the globe. She did something that film history had never seen before. By playing Princess Leia in Star Wars, she subverted the very popular “damsel in distress” trope. She did this by playing an independent woman who did not only help her supposed knights but also escaped the Death Star. Her acting career had been dominated by this role, which she reprised for the sequels made by Disney. She died a tragic death not that long ago, but she still appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker posthumously.
