If gorillas feel threatened or surprised, they will likely act violently to protect themselves. Yes, this happens even when they are not actually in danger. Silverback male gorillas typically respond with bluff charges and loud roars. You should know that gorillas are fast creatures who can catch a running human without a problem. When they catch you, they will bite the closest body part! Yikes.
