The Painting In Question
One of the paintings disappeared! It was “Woman-Ochre” by a famous Dutch artist called Willem De Kooning. The only thing that remained was the rectangular canvas where it had been cut out of the frame. Sadly, the police did not find any fingerprints. They had nothing to go on, save for the description of the getaway car and the couple that the guard provided. They did not even know the plate number.

Are you familiar with the artist? If not, there is no need to fret. Willem de Kooning was an abstract painter who was a part of the mid-century expressionist movement. His paintings fetch a lot of money. In fact, one of them went for $137.5 million. For 33 years, the “Woman-Ochre” art heist had been unsolved. Things changed when an unassuming dealer realized that it was sitting in his antique shop.
