Many people love George Lucas for creating the works of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. However, many people also despise him for when he eventually did to Star Wars and the latest installment of Indiana Jones. No matter what side of the fence you are on, you can’t deny the passion he has to give to others. Due to the Star Wars franchise, he ultimately has more money than he could probably ever spend. In 2012 he donated over $4.2 million to the George Lucas Educational Foundation, which is designed to help young people become responsible citizens and compassionate leaders, and with the money it helps them go to college to move closer towards their dreams. Beyond this though, George Lucas sold the rights of Star Wars and Indiana Jones off to Disney for $4 billion. This came in $2 billion worth of stock in Disney and $2 billion in cash. George Lucas donated the entire $2 billion he received in cash to charities. So, for anyone who ever says Star Wars never did anyone any good, make sure to bring up the $2 billion George Lucas donated to charities for education, cancer research and other important charities.
