Rumor has it that Heather Locklear didn’t even call Richie Sambora to inform him she was filing for divorce. A discussion between these two didn’t even take place. Furthermore just before Sambora went on stage to perform, a reporter asked him about the divorce. People magazine said, “Richie told one friend that if his marriage was on the rocks, it looked like he was the last to know.” Sambora only found out about the divorce because of the reporter, not his own soon to be ex-wife.

Setting aside the “inappropriate e-mail”, the rumor mill was churning big time over a different reason for the split. On October 4, 1997, Sambora and Locklear welcomed their only daughter, Ava Elizabeth Sambora. Reportedly a few of Sambora’s friends claim he wanted more children but that Locklear was unwilling. Apparently this caused a huge riff between the couple.
