With no sign of marital issues to the public eye, Locklear’s decision was sadly fueled by incriminating photos. She discovered an email which was sent to Sambora from a mutual friend of theirs – the photos in the email were completely inappropriate for a single friend to be sending to a married man. When confronted with the evidence, Sambora denied any wrong doing and Locklear filed for divorce the next day. At the time, an undisclosed source spoke to People magazine and said, “She’s devastated. Absolutely devastated.”

In the mid 90’s, Locklear was introduced to Sambora through a mutual friend not long after her divorce from Mötley Crüe drummer, Tommy Lee. At the start of their relationship, times were tough as they lived on opposites end of the country. Long distance is a strain on any relationship!
