Since 2005, Selleck has been playing the part of Jesse Stone, a transplanted lawman, in made-for-TV movies based on Robert B. Parker’s novels. Currently the series has nine films and recently Selleck became the producer for the episodes. Furthermore film five, Jesse Stone: Thin Ice, is not even an adaptation from the novels but in fact an original story that Selleck created.
