Randy did not forget to do his homework. He found out that the original photograph of Billy, the Upham tintype, was bought by a collector called Bill Koch during a 2011 auction. He paid $2.3 million for it! Whoa. However, Linda and Randy did not know who the photographer was and the circumstances surrounding the photo. They could not prove it was genuine, but they felt determined.

Some collectors did not believe that the photograph was the real deal. Linda felt disheartened to hear this. She was already planning to redo the house, but it now seemed impossible. She knew it was him as soon as she looked at the photos. Aside from that, the rest of the faces seemed familiar to her as well. The two of them were convinced that this was a photograph of Billy and The Regulators in the middle of a croquet game. Did they have it wrong?
