Starting Out
She got herself an agent and started working on low-budget films and TV shows. She later got a part in the 1989 TV film, Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. After this, she played Tess McGill in the ill-fated small screen adaptation of Working Girl. She would then work on a number of films until she made it big in Demolition Man.

Trying Out For Speed
Before she landed the role of Annie Porter in Speed, the casting directors had Halle Berry and Ellen DeGeneres in mind. Sandra Bullock came on to read for the part with Keanu Reeves for a chemistry test. When Entertainment Weekly interviewed her, she said they had to do “all these physical scenes together, rolling around on the floor and stuff.”
