Phyllis McGuire

Phyllis McGuire, the last remaining member of the McGuire Sisters, died of natural causes on December 29. At the time, she was 89 years old. The McGuire Sisters, which included her sisters Dorothy and Christine McGuire, ruled the 1950s until 1968, when Phyllis’ contentious relationship with mobster Sam Giancana forced them to split up. She was featured in Sugartime, an HBO film about the love affair.

Adolfo ‘Shabba-Doo’ Quiñones

Adolfo “Shabba-Doo” Quiñones, a dance superstar and star of the cult film Breakin’, died of unknown causes at the age of 65. Before moving into film, he choreographed and appeared in the music video for’s “All Night Long.” He is best known for his role as Ozone in the underground film Breakin’, which he reprised in the sequel. His other big-screen appearances include Lambada, Tango & Cash, and Xanadu.
