Michael Alig
Michael Alig, the infamous leader of the “Club Kids” of the 1990s, died at the age of 54. Alig was a co-founder of the edgy club scene in New York City. He was later found guilty of murdering and dismembering fellow club kid Andre “Angel” Melendez. Party Monster, a feature film starring Alig that was released in 2003, was based on his story.
Leslie West
Leslie West, a 75-year-old rock guitarist who died two days after suffering cardiac arrest, died on December 23. West founded Mountain in 1969, and he performed with them on the second day of Woodstock. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as The Who, Bo Diddley, Ian Gillan of Deep Purple, and others. During one of Mountain’s breakups, West made his big screen debut in Family Honor and The Money Pit.
