Ben Watkins, a season 6 MasterChef Junior contestant, died on November 6 after an 18-month battle with a rare cancer. At the time, he was 14 years old. Watkins, who began cooking when he was three years old, placed in the top 18 of the culinary competition show and quickly became a fan favorite.

Bert Belasco
Bert Belasco, who starred in the film Let’s Stay Together, died at the age of 38. The BET star was discovered dead in his Virginia hotel room, where he was preparing for a role in an upcoming film. In addition to his role as Charles Whitmore on Let’s Stay Together, Belasco has appeared on Fox’s Pitch and numerous episodes of Showtime’s I’m Dying Up Here. He also made brief appearances on Justified, Superstore, NCIS: New Orleans, Key & Peele, and House.
