As he continued searching for food in the vicinity, he was able to eat some meat for the first time in a while in the form of a dead bird lying by the roadside. He ate it raw, if you can believe it. It must have felt like quenching his thirst, but he had to find new sources of sustenance soon. What did he do next?

No matter how desperate Knight was, he knew better than to go into the cabins of innocent people. Let us not forget that he did not want to stumble into another person and have his solitude taken away from him. This was the reason he started to steal small items from gardens. He would only take an ear of corn or a tomato. There are times when he could push himself to dig around for extra veggies. When you are hungry, you really go and do things you normally would not.
