If you have never listened to “Jolene” then you need to so immediately. Good? Great, let’s carry on. Here’s the truth about that oh-so famous hit song of hers, it’s inspired by a real-life event. Early on in her and Carl’s marriage, there was a a redheaded bank teller who had a “terrible crush” on Carl. The crush then became a running joke between the duo. Amazing to think that that’s all it took to inspire one of the greatest songs around.
