The Pharaoh Hound has its roots in Malta. You can buy one if you have $6,500 to spare! It is also known as the Blushing Dog thanks to its coat color. Traditionally, however, it is called Kelb-Tal-Fenek or the dog of the rabbit. Its ancestors used to hunt gazelles alongside the Egyptian pharaohs. While it has Egyptian origins, it managed to make its way to Malta and even became the national dog of the country! It has been around for 5,000 years now. It is a smart and trainable dog that normally lives from 11 to 14 years.

The Portuguese Water Dog hails from the Portuguese region of Algarve. Its average price stands at $3,000. From 2008 to 2016, one called Bo was a member of the White House! This dog breed normally lives up to 15 years and weighs as much as 60 pounds. It is a hypoallergenic dog that is smart, cuddly, and good with families. However, you need to train it early on if you do not want it to be sassy and impetuous. It turns out that they tend to develop those traits if they are not trained to listen.
