Based on the name alone, you might have figured out that the Peruvian Hairless comes from Peru. Worth $3,000, it is distinctive for its hairless body. But it sometimes has a smattering of hair strands on the top of its head as well. This animal is pretty small and has been around for several centuries now. It was originally bred in the pre-Inca times and grew more popular in the Incan Dynasty. The sweet animals have appeared on Moche Vessels and Andean ceramics. It was said that they can heal arthritis!
Akita
The Akita has its origins in the mountainous regions of Northern Japan. It will set you back by as much as $4,500. This dog breed has two varieties: the Japanese Akita and the American Akita. At any rate, they are both huge creatures. The male ones can weigh as much as 130 pounds! In the beginning, it was bred to be a guard dog that will protect not only the Japanese royal family but the other nobles as well. This dog breed is quite impressive as it can hunt down wild board, enormous deer, and black bear.
