Adreian Payne and Princess Lacey
When Lacey Holsworth was 8 years old, she lost her battle with cancer. In the years leading up to it, “Princess Lacey” developed an adorable friendship with then Michigan State Basketball star Adrien Payne. They first met when Payne’s basketball team visited an area hospital. Their friendship grew, and Lacey and her family turned into a staple at Michigan State games.

A Dying Fan’s Last Wish
Bob Wisecup is a 63-year-old patient at a hospice in Iowa. His lungs were failing him, leading him to need oxygen and a wheelchair. Wisecup told the staff at the hospice that there were two things he wanted before he dies: to finally see the Hawkeyes in person and to go back to Memphis, Tennessee, where the home of his musical idol, Elvis Presley, lived. As word got out about his wishes, a season ticket-holder heard about it and sent Wisecup three tickets. The benefactor went along with Wisecup and a staff member to a game and paid for everything. Then, after the game, Hawkeye Elvis came up to Wisecup to shake hands and pose for pictures together.
